But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
"Abide in me"
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.
He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that don't believe the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abide on him.
But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seekes such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your bed, and walk.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come to you.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heares my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.
Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself;
And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But he said this about the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
Then came the Jews round about him, and said to him, How long shall you make us to doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.
Jesus answered them, I told you, and you didn't believe: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my Father are one.
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepes; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Then said Jesus to them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith to him, Lord, by this time he stinkes: for he has been dead four days.
Jesus said to her, Didn't I say to you, that, if thou would believe, you should see the glory of God?
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me.
And I knew that you halways hear me: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord.
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, your King comes, sitting on an ass's colt.
He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, they thought they would be put out of the synagogue:
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me.
And he that sees me sees him that sent me.
I am come as a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.
And if any man hear my words, and don't believe, I don't judge him: for I didn't came to judge the world, but to save the world.
He that rejects me, and don't receives my words, has a judge over him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak.
He rised from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
After that he poured water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said to them, do you know what I have done to you?
You call me Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet.
For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.
A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.
Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus answered and said to him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
He that does not love me don't keep my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
If you love me, keep my commandments.
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me.
But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.
From now on I don't call servants; for the servant does not know what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known to you.
These things I command you, that you love one another.
