And they departed from there, and passed through Galilee; but he didn't want anyone to know about it.
He taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise on the third day.
And they did not understand what he said, but they did not dare ask him
And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that you disputed among yourselves by the way?
But they said nothing: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
And he took a child and placed it in their midst: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said to them,
Whosoever receives one of such children in my name, receives me: and whosoever receives me, receives him that sent me.
For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
And whoever seduces one of these little ones that believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he was cast into the sea.
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worms don't die, and the fire is not quenched.
And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worms don't die, and the fire is not quenched.
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out: it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Where their worms don't die, and the fire is not quenched.
And he arose from there, and came into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and much people came to him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
Then the Pharisees wanted to tempt him and came and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?
And he answered and said to them, What did Moses command you?
Moses allowed a man to write a bill of divorcement for his wife and then divorce her.
And Jesus answered and said to them, For the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this precept.
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
And he said to them, Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
And if a woman divorces her husband, and and marries another, she commits adultery.
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said to them, Let the little children come to me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Truly I say to you, Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
And when he went off to continue his way, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him: Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour your father and mother.
And he answered and said to him, Master, all these have I kept from my youth.
Then Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack: go your way, sell all thigs that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have a treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
And Jesus looking on them said, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Then Peter began to say to him, see, we have left all, and have followed you.
And Jesus answered and said, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, even during times of persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen to him,
Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
But Jesus called them to him, and said to them, You know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
But so shall it not be among you: but whoever will be great among you, shall be your servant:
and whoever wants to be first, he must be everyone's servant.
For even the Son of man didn't come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life as ransom for many.
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me.
And many charged him that he should be quiet: but he cried the more a great deal, You son of David, have mercy on me.
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calls you.
And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
And Jesus answered and said to him, What do you want that I should do to you? The blind man said to him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has made you whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
And when they came near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
And said to them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as you have entered into it, you shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
And if any man say to you, Why are you doing this? say that the Lord has need of him; and straightway he will send it back here.
And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
And certain of them that stood there said to them, What are you doing, why are you loosing the colt?
And they said to them just as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord:
Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that comes in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and it was already late in the day, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
And would not allow that any man carried any vessel through the temple.
And he taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but you have made it a den of thieves.
And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
And when the evening had come, he went out of the city.
And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
And Peter calling to remembrance said to him, Master, see, the fig tree which you cursed is withered away.
And Jesus answering said to them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say to you, That whoever says to this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; and not doubts in his heart, but believes that those things which he said shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he said.
Therefore I say to you, What ever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.
And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
And said to him, By what authority are you doing these things? and who gave you this authority to do these things?
And Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we answer, From heaven; he will say, Why then did you not believe him?
But if we shall answer, Of men; they feared the people: for all men considered indeed John to be a prophet.
And they answered and said to Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
And he began to speak to them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge around it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
And again he sent to them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last to them, saying, They will reverence my son.
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.'
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.
And have you not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
And they send to him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
